The mullein plant has been around for thousands of years. The leaves are almost odorless and with a bitter taste. The main ingredient they contain is gum and resin, a little tannin and a trace of volatile oil. Mullein is a popular natural remedy most often used to treat respiratory disorders since ancient times, but it also has many other medicinal uses.

Hot Brewing Infused Mullein Flowers Tea

- Place 1-2 teaspoons of dried mullein flowers in a teapot for each cup of tea you intend to brew.
- Cover with boiling water. Place on the lid (or cover your cup with a saucer).
- Allow the mixture to steep for 10 to 15 minutes or overnight.
- Careful straining to avoid the small flowers hairs can irritate the throat and cause coughing.
- Once strained well the tea it’s ready to be served.
- Drink 1-3 cups of tea a day.
- If you prefer add honey, milk or lemon wedge for flavor.

- Mullein is generally considered safe to use on a regular basis but possible side effects.
- Include unusual fatigue, lethargy, inflammation of the lungs, skin irritation, confusion connected with the hypnotic effects of mullein.
