This teapot is one of the treasures made by Master Shen, who has long crafted high-quality Yixing-style teapots using clay from Taiwan’s Yingge District. Capacity: 180 ml selected because it works equally well for Gong Fu Cha and for Western-style infusions. Perfect for pure teas and multiple infusions.

Yingge clay is ideal for high-quality teapot production. The area is dotted with tea shops and artisan studios. Nearby quarries still extract superior clay. The clay’s particular trait is being perfectly porous, with a balanced mineral composition. Yingge teapots are among Taiwan’s best in terms of infusion performance.

Master Shen is a master craftsman, continuing his family tradition along with his wife. His workshop is simple: each teapot is crafted from plaster molds he designs and creates himself.

The production process:

• Concept and design
• Creation of plaster molds
• Forming each component (handle, lid, spout, body, etc.)
• Pouring liquid clay into the mold and allowing moisture to evaporate
• Hand-assembling the pieces to form the raw teapot
• Smoothing and refining
• Firing at temperatures determined by multiple factors
