Long Jing, also known as Lung Ching or Dragon Well, is without a doubt the most celebrated green tea in China revered for centuries and a benchmark in both flavor and craftsmanship. What sets this particular Long Jing apart is its origin and heritage: grown in Xin Chang County in Zhejiang Province, near the Da Fo Buddhist Temple, from which it takes its name.
This Late April harvest uses the prestigious Cultivar Number 43, a variety known for its fine structure, aromatic complexity, and ability to thrive in high-altitude gardens. At 700 meters above sea level, the leaves mature more slowly, developing a sweeter, smoother, and more aromatic profile. Focusing on artisan-quality leaves hand-harvested by experienced farmers. These producers continue centuries-old traditions, offering teas that are as authentic as they are delicious.
Unlike late season or lower grade Long Jing teas, our late April harvest captures the fresh vibrancy and subtle, delicate taste that makes early spring Long Jing so desirable. Cultivar 43, in particular, brings a grassy, toasty, with hints of chestnut aromas and refined taste with a smooth and layered-sweet, slightly smoky with notes of toasted hazelnut, chestnut, and a gentle vegetal undertone. Offering a silky, rounded, with a clean and lingering finish mouthfeel. Once infused its colors is a clear jade green.
What makes Long Jing teas unique is the traditional pan-firing technique, which imparts their characteristic light smokiness and the signature nutty profile that connoisseurs love.
The health benefits of Long Jing as a high-quality green tea, is naturally rich in catechins and antioxidants, supporting immune functions, L-Theanine rich promoting focus and relaxation, reduces stress. Fluoride and minerals rich supporting oral health. Cholesterol lowering compounds helps support heart health.
