Blooming tea, also known as flowering tea, is a unique Chinese specialty with origins likely tracing back to the Yunnan region. Historically, it was a luxurious delicacy reserved for emperors and the upper echelons of society, celebrated not only for its flavor but also for its stunning visual appeal.

This exquisite tea is crafted from large-leaf green tea, carefully hand-sewn around an exquisite flower bud. When steeped in hot water, the tightly wrapped leaves unfurl gracefully, revealing the blooming flower at its center captivating spectacle that transforms tea drinking into an elegant sensory experience.

Typically, the green tea base is delicately scented with jasmine, while the embedded flower serves primarily an aesthetic purpose, enhancing the ritual of tea preparation and presentation.

For the best experience, blooming teas are traditionally brewed in a clear glass teapot. Simply place the flowering tea bud inside the teapot and pour hot water (90°-100°C) over it. As the tea slowly steeps, the bud will gradually open, unveiling the flower within. This unfolding ceremony not only delights the eyes but also infuses the tea with gentle floral aromas, making each sip a moment of tranquility and beauty.
